About
Welcome to **Gracie's Sea Hag**, a culinary gem nestled in the picturesque town of Depoe Bay, Oregon. This beloved eatery, located at 58 US-101, has earned a reputation for its inviting atmosphere and mouthwatering dishes. As a dedicated food reviewer for Foodjoyy, I couldn't resist the temptation to explore the delights that Gracie's has to offer.
One of the cornerstone highlights of Gracie's Sea Hag is their world-famous clam chowder. Recognized as the best on the Oregon coast by Willamette Weekly and featured in the prestigious New York Times Cookbook, this rich and creamy chowder is made from scratch daily. Served piping hot with a dollop of fresh butter, parsley, and a sprinkle of paprika, it’s an experience that warms the heart and soul.
But the menu doesn’t stop there. The Bowl of Oyster Stew is another must-try – a delightful concoction featuring a savory blend of bacon, celery, and onions sautéed with herbs, all steeped in a velvety cream broth. This original recipe epitomizes comfort food and showcases the skill of the culinary team at Gracie’s.
For those seeking a lighter fare, the Sea Hag Seafood Louie's delivers a tantalizing mix of Oregon Dungeness crab and pink shrimp over a bed of mixed greens. Accompanied by a perfect Louie dressing, it's a bright, refreshing option that doesn’t skimp on flavor. Guests can choose from various combinations, each served with a medley of vegetables, including tomatoes, hard-boiled eggs, olives, and asparagus for a truly satisfying meal.
Gracie's Sea Hag also excels in breakfast offerings, inviting patrons to start their day right. Choices like the Bacon & Eggs with thick slices of hickory-smoked bacon and the {Oysters And Eggs}, paired with hash browns and toast, highlight the restaurant's emphasis on quality ingredients and generous portions.
Customer reviews consistently rave about the warm and engaging service. One visitor, Grammy G, appreciated the attentive staff and the unexpected delight she found in the restaurant's two sections. Missy K echoed this sentiment, praising the prompt service and delicious to-go options like the Caesar salad topped with crab and a zesty shrimp cocktail.
Gracie's Sea Hag is not just a restaurant; it's a destination for food lovers. The blend of innovative dishes, time-honored recipes, and a cozy, welcoming ambiance makes it a standout choice for both locals and tourists alike. If you find yourself in Depoe Bay, do yourself a favor and step into Gracie's Sea Hag for a truly memorable dining experience that you won’t soon forget. Your taste buds will surely thank you!
“ Didn’t know what to expect walking in. Apparently there are two sides to this restaurant as we walked in on the bar side and thought that’s all there was. Until we were ready to leave and realized there were two sides. So please note that. Walking in I was worried it wouldn’t be to my parents liking. But I was wrong the service ended up being great. Our waitstaff was awesome. A little salty but awesome! The food was great and my parents raved about it and even said they wanted to go back. I had a caeser salad with salmon and it was good! My mom had the salmon dinner and she said it was cooked just right. My dad had a steak and said the meat was tender. Two thumbs up and highly recommend!! ”
“ We stopped in to get a to go order at the bar, not knowing what to expect. It was fairly busy but the bar staff were so great & took care of us the quickest they could. We ordered a Caesar salad with crab & a shrimp cocktail, as well as the Marionberry lemonade. All were delish! The dressing on the salad was perfectly balanced, there was a good amount of crab on the salad, & the cocktail sauce was so yummy! Just the right amount of spice to it. Next time we are in town we will definitely stop again. So glad we took a chance. ”
“ Had a pleasant time with my Valentine's date. Food was so Yummy had the Seaford pasta very filling he had the smoked salmon pasta the salmon was yummy I got a nibble of it. Good memories I worked at the Hag from '91 -'96. Thanks for a lovely evening ”
“ Was looking for a different breakfast experience so I decided to go here. After reviews I was like maybe Not? But after having breakfast at a couple other spots I said to myself it’s just breakfast lol. It was really good, pancakes coffee and eggs - wish they had a pancake combo meal or French toast combo waffle combo you know but that’s ok. Service was great my waitress was great and the cook came out several times to ask if everything was good ! That said I’ll be back ! I live locally and every breakfast place fills up with tourists fast, so nice to have options in Depoe Bay Area . ”
“ Had Salmon and chips. Salmon was very mild, was not overpowering. Highly recommended. Husband had Monte Cristo. His cousin is a chef and said from the picture she could see it was made the correct way . ”
“ Don’t mis this amazing place with many amazing dishes from the sea!!! Back again... so many amazing dishes!! Tonight Coconut Halibut and coquille Saint Jacque scallops!!! Ask for Megan she’ll make sure you are satisfied!!! Back for more Crab Benedict !!! Plus!!! ”
“ Read mixed reviews on this place. We stopped by and had lunch. We had the clam chowder bowl, calamari, and garlic bread. All of it was very good! ”
“ So this place is as good as it gets on many levels... Walked in not knowing what to expect and OMG the food was amazing. Ordered the Seared Ahi Tuna to start & the Coconut Curry Halibut for my entree. Now, I like to think that I am a decent seafood cook in my own kitchen but I will NOT attempt to replicate what the Sea Hag serves because first off I would be embarrassed just knowing how it's supposed to be done even if I did put forth a good fish entree. Secondly, it would simply be disrespectful for my to think I could do what the kitchen chef here does with seafood... Beyond the food, the servers/bar staff were excellent. Friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable about food & beverages so pretty much exactly what you want from the staff no matter whether you sit down at a table or at the bar counter. Loved the atmosphere in this place as well. It was Saturday night and I walked in around 7:30pm to a live music duo and the place was very casual and everyone that I observed appeared to be enjoying themselves... I had a glass of Oregon pinot noir to finish off my evening at the Sea Hag. This place gets my highest rating I have ever given to a restaurant/cafe in the USA 9.7 out of 10 ”
